WHAT WE DO
Woffinden was established in 2015 as an alternative to traditional law firms and Human Resources providers. Woffinden provides a virtual in house service focussed on practical solutions, combining employment law expertise with strategic and operational HR experience in the UK and overseas.
We believe that the best advice is not legal advice. It is practical advice based on understanding people, business and the law. We have been in your shoes – the in house lawyer balancing increasing demands with constraints on resources, the HR Director designing and implementing a major restructuring, the manager in the room handling the face-to-face conversations.

HEAR WHAT OTHERS SAY
“David brings his legal expertise and attention to detail to everything he does, but his focus is always on making sure we find a solution that does the right thing for our colleagues and the business. An invaluable sounding board for difficult decisions and able to handle any challenge (and I’ve given him quite a few!). David remains a key member of my team.”
- Lynne Weedall(Group HR Director – Selfridges Group)
“For non-legal people, David is a breath of fresh air as he knows how to talk the language of his audience and does so with humour and pragmatism. He is a great counsellor, colleague and mentor to others. He has first hand experience of generalist HR and specialist reward (including International) which makes his contribution invaluable, however David’s biggest asset (and the reason I would always recommend him) is his personality and approach to situations.”
- Cathy Millis(People Director – Countrywide Plc)
“David is a very experienced and excellent employment lawyer having covered all material employment matters. These cover a broad range of matters from traditional HR advisory work through to complex M&A transactions and public company issues including incentive schemes and governance. His great skill is being able to make difficult decisions and to work at pace across a broad range of issues without sitting on the fence with his advice. I would strongly recommend him to any company.”
- Tim Morris(Group Director, Legal Affairs – TalkTalk Group)
