David Woffinden is an experienced employment lawyer, recommended for his ability to make difficult decisions and to work at pace across a broad range of issues without sitting on the fence with his advice. David qualified into the employment team at the City office of Pinsents (now Pinsent Masons) and moved in house in 2003.
“For more than ten years I worked in house at the Carphone Warehouse Group, combining my original employment law role with responsibility for ethics across the Group and an expanding remit across HR including Employee Relations, Reward, with a particular focus on long term incentives, and International HR.
Acting as an adviser, in house lawyer, HR leader and decision maker I have developed a unique combination of legal expertise and practical HR experience.
At the Carphone Warehouse I established an integrated employee relations and employment law function responsible for policies, contracts and handbooks, advising on their implementation and the resolution of disputes including Tribunal litigation. I also advised on executive level issues, joint ventures and disposals across multiple jurisdictions as well as implementing processes and policies to support US and UK regulatory requirements. I have particular experience of designing and implementing complex multiple site reorganisation and restructuring programs.”
Since launching his own firm in 2015, David has advised a range of clients – primarily in retail and telecommunications – both as part of an established in house team and in a more traditional advisory capacity.
